Bipolar Awareness.

Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that affects millions of people around the world. Despite its prevalence, there is still a lot of misunderstanding about what bipolar disorder is and how it affects those who live with it. October is Bipolar Awareness Month, so it's the perfect time to learn more about this complex condition.

Bipolar disorder is characterized by extreme mood swings, from highs (mania or hypomania) to lows (depression). These swings can be severe and can make it difficult for someone with bipolar disorder to function in day-to-day life. There are two types of bipolar disorder: type 1, which is characterized by mania, and type 2, which is characterized by hypomania. Both types can cause serious disruptions in a person's life.

While there is no cure for bipolar disorder, there are treatments that can help manage the symptoms and allow those affected to live relatively normal lives. If you or someone you know is struggling with bipolar disorder, reach out for help. There are many resources available to support you on your journey.
