Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)

Oppositional Defiant Disorder, or ODD, is a psychiatric condition characterized by chronic and persistent patterns of defiant and oppositional behavior. While it is most commonly diagnosed in children and adolescents, it can also occur in adults. Symptoms of ODD include a constantly negative attitude, willful disobedience, refusal to comply with rules or expectations, deliberately annoying or provoking others, and blame shifting. If you or someone you know exhibits these symptoms on a regular basis, it may be worth considering whether they have ODD. Luckily, there are treatments available that can help manage the condition. With awareness and understanding, we can all help make life easier for those living with ODD.
